ACOG 2020 Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting

Dr. Gordon B. Kuttner is an accomplished healthcare expert in women’s health specializing in key areas such as obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, advanced reproduction, and fertility. A doctor of medicine graduate from New York Medical College, Gordon Kuttner, MD is also a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) was established in 1951 to bring together professionals who work to improve women’s health. The organization has a membership of over 58,000 and engages in various activities as part of its mandate. ACOG organizes numerous annual events such as the Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting 2020 Edition scheduled for April 24-27 in Seattle, Washington.

Outside of work, Dr. Gordon B. Kuttner holds diplomate status with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME).

Since its founding in 1915, the NBME has provided licensure and assessment of healthcare professionals. The board, a nonprofit organization, manages the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USLME), an assessment for medical licensure in the United States. Consisting of three steps, the exam is cosponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards.

Passing the USMLE is just one requirement for certification as an NBME diplomate. Diplomates must also hold an MD from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education-accredited medical school. In addition, certification requires completion of a year of graduate medical education accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education or completion of an accredited medical internship in Canada.

About Gordon Kuttner

Dr. Gordon B. Kuttner was hired by Guidewell Care Solutions (Florida Blue Medicare) to transform Medicare Advantage offerings that enable individuals and communities to improve their health. Gordon B. Kuttner, MD, JD, MBA is an experienced physician executive with more than 30 years of medical experience. He is currently serving as a senior medical director for Florida Blue Medicare. Dr. Gordon B. Kuttner and his team are leveraging technology to empower providers with up-to-date information about their patients and at the same time engaging members with ongoing electronic bidirectional communication with the health plan so that members are enabled to take ownership of their healthcare and reach their healthcare potential. This comprehensive approach allows the Plan to be both provider and member-centric, but never losing touch with the human side of medicine. Dr. Kuttner’s philosophy is to leverage technology to decrease human error by performing repetitive tasks and big data mining to generate insights of how to help people, populations, and providers with actionable tasks that improve efficiencies, cost-effective outcomes, and personalize experiences for both patients and providers. 

Board Certified in OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Kuttner led the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at Albany Medical College in New York and then the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in Florida. While a faculty member at Albany Medical College he was instrumental in working with third-party payers to improve fertility coverage policies and he also transformed the undergraduate OB/GYN clinical clerkship program in ways that enhanced education. 

Establishing the Center for Advanced Reproduction, Endocrinology, & Surgery, PA, in North Carolina in the early 2000s, Dr. Kuttner offered a full range of advanced reproductive procedures, from IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection and gamete/embryo cryopreservation to specialized genetic testing to remove deadly familial diseases. Among the treatment efforts he oversaw were those related to fertility and menopause, and he coordinated 3rd-party parenting. In addition to his medical background, he holds a JD from the Florida A&M University College of Law and an MBA from George Washington University Business School.
